This remodeled tale somehow eluded me until recently but better late than never...
At the center of the story, beneath lavish costumes and outrageous characters, is a little girl remembering the love of her father. That once upon a time, amidst the uncertainty of a unique imagination, she asked her father a question, "Have I gone mad?" Alice asked. To which her father reassuringly replied, "I'm afraid so. You're mad, bonkers, off your head! But I'll tell you a secret: All the best people are."
As my daughter turns 8 tomorrow I hope to be the kind of father that is always comfort, always reassuring, always love no matter how whimsical or how impossible the situation.
Here are a few favorite quotes from the film Alice In Wonderland;
Alice - "This is impossible." Mad Hatter - "Only if you believe it is."
Cheshire Cat - "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."
Mad Hatter - "When that day comes I shall futterwacken... vigorously."
Alice - "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Mad Hatter - "That is an excellent practice."
March Hare - "If you don't think then you shouldn't talk."
